Mbale to Host This Year's Church of Uganda Youth Convention

The Church of Uganda has announced that the Provincial Annual Youth and Students Convention (PAYSCO) 2026 will take place from December 7 to 10, 2026, at Mbale Secondary School in the Diocese of Mbale.

The announcement was made in a statement addressed to all Diocesan Secretaries, dated June 11, 2026, and signed by the Provincial Secretary, Rev. Canon William Ongeng.

According to the statement, the Church of Uganda has held Provincial Annual Youth and Students Conventions every December since 2015, in line with Resolution 11(i) of the 22nd Provincial Assembly.

The conventions are intended to empower and equip youth leaders for works of service and mission among their peers in schools and institutions of learning, their communities, and the country at large.

“This year's convention will gather more than 3,000 youth leaders from all the 39 dioceses of the Province of the Church of Uganda,” the statement read.

The four-day gathering will focus on Christian nurture, leadership development, life skills, and economic empowerment for young people under the theme, “Anchored in Christ as Leaders for Unity, Stability & Peace” (Ephesians 2:14–17).

Canon Ongeng called upon dioceses to send youth delegates to participate in the convention.

The convention fee has been set at Shs 80,000 per delegate, with payments to be made through Pearl Bank Account Number 4090000000005 in the names of COU–Provincial Youth & Students Ministry.

In the statement, Canon Ongeng emphasized the importance of investing in youth ministry, noting that, “Your support towards Youth Ministry is critical for the growth and sustainability of the Church and nation at large.”

The Provincial Secretary also requested dioceses to send youth delegates to the convention, scheduled to be held at Mbale Secondary School in the Diocese of Mbale.
